A giant Lego sleigh, complete with Father Christmas and his eight life-sized reindeer, flew into The Legoland Windsor Resort over the weekend, marking the beginning of the resort’s Christmas festivities.
This is the first time that the impressive 15m long model has been put on display and has been created from 700,000 LEGO bricks and took over a month to build.
The model, loaded with LEGO presents, weighs 2,500kg – the equivalent of 500 turkeys or more than 5,000 Christmas puddings and will go on display at the park to welcome guests as they arrive.
Lauren Moss, senior PR Manager at the Legoland Windsor Resort, said: “The arrival of the LEGO Father Christmas and his reindeers at the Resort officially signals the start of our Christmas event.
“It’s a truly magical model and we can’t wait to see the reactions of our guests when they visit us this December.”
The festive new addition will join over 30 rides and attractions, Lego Christmas themed activities, music and magic set to delight families on select dates throughout December (9-10 and 16-24 December).
Also in the park will be an enchanted Christmas Kingdom where little ones will meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto and receive Lego Christmas gift.
In Miniland, Christmas will come to life with miniature festive additions to London and Scotland, from a bustling Lego Christmas market in Covent Garden to Father Christmas flying over Big Ben in his sleigh.
Tickets for LEGOLAND at Christmas must be pre booked online in advance at www.legoland.co.uk and are priced at £35 per person.
