Holiday time can be stressful for couples whose relationship is already under strain.
Being in close proximity in a small hotel room, chalet or tent, can be the final straw, says Divorce Recovery Workshop chair John Kemp of Wokingham.
Research has shown more people file for divorce after holiday times. DRW, a Berkshire-based national charity, is ready to support those people and others whose break up might have been years ago.
The charity’s next local course is on October 12, 13, 19 and 20 at Brookside Hall, Earley, Reading. The complete course consists of four sessions: two on Friday evenings and two Saturdays during the day.
DRW aims to help overcome the pain that the end of a relationship can cause. It’s for everyone regardless of whether the couple were married.
“Everyone involved in running the course has been through it themselves and can empathise with anyone struggling with the breakdown of a relationship,” said John.
“People interested in workshops can now go to YouTube links on the website and see short clips of the videos we show at our course’s sessions.
“The website also has people talking about how DRW has helped them. The great majority of people coming on a course find they have been helped to rebuild their lives.”
