A man’s body has been found in Yateley – and it is believed that it he could have been involved in an accident that took place six hours earlier.
Hampshire Police has issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after the body of a 20-year-old man was found in a white Peugeot 106 at around 8am on Saturday in Yateley.
It is thought that the car was involved in a road traffic incident at about 2am, in Cricket Hill Lane, on the junction with Carrick Road. BBC Radio Berkshire report that the car was found in undergrowth nearby and that officers said someone had reported hearing a bang.
Police say that the man’s family have been informed but he will not be named until all formally identification procedures have been completed.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, is asked to call Sgt Bates at Whitchurch Roads Policing on 101, quoting Operation College.
