An appeal for donations has been made to enable a community event to take place this summer, writes Holly Fournier.
The Arborfield branch of The Royal British Legion is planning a fun day to mark the D-Day landings of 1944.
The event will include live music and a fete and will be held at the village’s recreation grounds.
Organisers say that donations are essential for the event to take place and have launched a crowdfunding appeal to raise money to pay for the costs of the event which takes place on Saturday, June 8.
Isobel Bowman, part of the organising committee, said that planning for the event is “full steam ahead”.
A note on the Crowdfunding site said: “Without people’s generosity the event might have to be scaled down or possibly even cancelled due to lack of funds”.
All money raised on the day will go to the Poppy Appeal.
