A MAN was stabbed during a raid on an Earley convenience store.
And police have said that the victim was fortunate not to have been more seriously injured.
The attack took place around 8.25pm on Wednesday, October 10.
Thames Valley Police said that the two offenders had their faces covered when they entered the One Stop convenience store on Wokingham Road, Earley.
Both offenders are believed to be in their late teens, both wearing dark clothing and face coverings.
One offender is believed to be a white man and the other a black man.
During their attempted raid, a staff member suffered a chest injury, which police said was believed to have been caused by a bladed article.
The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital to have treatment for a non-life-threatening injury. He currently remains in hospital.
Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Christopher Andrews, of Force CID at Newbury station, said: “This was a frightening incident which took place in a very public area.
“The victim was lucky not to have sustained more serious injuries during this incident.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw or heard something.”
