WOKINGHAM’S only nightclub closed suddenly just four days before Christmas.
Spin, in Alexandra Court, was shut down ahead of what would have been one of its busiest weekends of the year. It had planned to hold special nights on Saturday, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

A bailiff’s notice has been posted on the doors of the nightclub, opposite The Gig House in the town centre revealing the festive shutdown.
The closure comes just weeks after Wetherspoon announced that it was leaving Wokingham next year and Spin is the latest business to be shut down.
Shoe shop Cara, bookshop Bookends and Clinton Cards have all left Wokingham’s town centre this year.
The owners of Spin posted a note on Facebook saying that the closure had been forced on them.
The notice reads: “With sadness today Spin Nightclub will be closed . We have had no control over our closure. We have had an amazing time with you all and we wish you all a very happy xmas and happy new year.”
The notice placed on the door of Spin said that the building’s owner, AXA Insurance UK and AXA PPP Healthcare Ltd have repossessed the premises and they intended to sell or dispose of all items left in the premises.
Spin was the only nightclub left in Wokingham town centre following the closure of Eternity. It used to be known as The Buzz.
However, The Red Lion, The Molly Millar and The Roebuck both open late at weekends while live music is performed at the Hope and Anchor, The Broad Street Tavern and The Victoria Arms.
