Featured in the paper every Thursday, Bracknell Bees head coach Doug Sheppard gives latest views on the club’s season on and off the ice in an exclusive column.
We’re currently on a loosening skid, but if we play as well as we did on Sunday against local rivals, Basingstoke Bison, we’ll win more games than we lose.
On Saturday evening, we lost heavily on the road against Milton Keynes. The score reflected what can happen when you go down against a team and then chase too hard to make up the deficit.
To see the same guys take the ice at home on Sunday and compete hard for the full sixty minutes of an exciting local derby was encouraging. It’s a long season and there’ll be times when the final result will be frustrating, for players and fans. What matters is the attitude we bring to each game. We lost 3-2 in a game that could have gone either way.
Off the ice we are working hard to bring the experience of ice hockey to our young fans. They’ll be excited by the selection of a young Bee to represent his country next year in the UnderTwenty GB team
Congratulations to Zack Milton. We look forward to watching your progress, in a Bees jersey and a GB shirt.
See you all this weekend as we welcome Hull to the Hive.
