FARLEY Hill got the better of relegation-threatened Crowthorne in a rain disrupted match which saw Farley triumph by seven wickets.
Crowthorne batted first in the inconsistent conditions. Opening batsman David McQuitty was run out as Farley gained an early breakthrough with his innings ending after scoring just two runs.
Lawrence Heaton-Wright then dismissed Ganes Pun for nine before Dave Neilson took the next two wickets as Farley continued to get joy out of the top order.
Despite the early fall in wickets, Tom Nash held strong and batted a sturdy innings to contribute over half of his sides runs with a score of 55.
Due to the rainy conditions, Crowthorne finished their 36 overs with a total of 107-7.
Farley began their pursuit of the first innings total resolutely with the first wicket falling after Simon Longfield was caught out by Simon Sheppard, bowled Dan Partridge for 23.
William Nash-Wrotham was sent back to the pavilion having added 12 runs to the total before opening batsman Ali Jalil’s spell ended on 36 as Farley progressed ever closer to the 108 target.
Michael Sheridan knocked 30 more runs, while Duncan Greeff joined him at the middle and totalled four not out as the pair batted Farley over the line in a comfortable victory with seven wickets and 2.4 overs to spare.
