The latest forecasts suggest that snow is on its way tonight and the Met Office has issued its infamous yellow snow warning.
The Thames Valley could see up to 4cm (almost, but not quite, 2 inches in old money) fall, with the heaviest snow expected to fall around 2am.
It is predicted to start around 11pm tonight and continue all evening.
The website UK Weather Live tweeted a map showing the full extent of the predicted snow on the country – but at the moment it remains unsure as to how far the snow will fall.

And Maiden Erleigh School’s weather station has also rounded up useful data about the snow forecast:

However, before you get your sledges out of the shed the Met Office warns that it may not be a winter wonderland.
The assessment says: “This snow is expected to fall along a relatively narrow corridor, perhaps only 100 miles wide, which means that some areas within the warning area may escape much of the snow. Meanwhile, where snow is limited or rain occurs instead, icy stretches may develop on untreated roads as rain and snow starts.”
