Spring cleaners are being asked to think of helping a charity as they clear out unused and unwanted items.
The Blue Cross branch in Wokingham’s town centre is calling on spring cleaners to bring good quality unwanted items to the Market Place, rather than throwing potentially re-saleable items away.
The charity said that sales of all pre-loved items in its store helps the thousands of homeless, abandoned sick and injured pets they care for every month.
Jaye Cook, Wokingham Blue Cross shop manager, said: “It’s the perfect time of the year for a clear out.
“A quote I’ve always loved is, no one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
“So instead or throwing things out this year, why not support our cause of helping the nation’s pets by bringing those goods to us.
“What’s old can become something new for someone else.”
Anyone with items to donate who wishes the Blue Cross to use them is asked to take them to the shop or pick up a special donation bag from the charity to fill up and return.
Anyone with larger donations that need to be driven to the store is asked to call 0118 977 4946 and Blue Cross staff will explain how best to drop off your items.
Blue Cross is a charity and receives no government funding so relies on the generous support of animal lovers to continue helping pets in need.
