Bracknell Bees face an uphill task if they are to reach the NIHL Cup final.
Bees lost 6-3 at Peterborough Phantoms on Sunday night, in a clash which was supposed to be the second of a two-legged semi-final.
However, it has instead acted as the first leg after Saturday’s scheduled clash was called off due to snow and ice around the The Hive.
Bracknell took an early lead through Josh Smith but Peterborough levelled up by the end of the first.
Phantoms got their noses in front in the 28th minute and moved 3-1 up before Bees netted again through Vanya Antonov.
The hosts had the better of the final period, moving 6-2 up before Aidan Doughty grabbed what could prove to be a vital late goal for Bees.
While trailing by three goals will be a tough ask, Bracknell will be buoyed by the fact they beat Peterborough 8-2 the last time the teams met at The Hive.
No date has yet been announced for the re-arranged home leg.
