A POPULAR swimming pool is currently closed to the public, despite it being half-term.
Carnival Pool in Wokingham closed last week due to a technical problem, and despite working round the clock to try and fix it, it is not currently expected to open until Friday afternoon.
With Bulmershe currently being rebuilt and Reading Borough Council having closed Arthur Hill and Central pools, there are few places that parents can take their children for a splashabout during the school holiday week: Loddon Valley in Lower Earley remains open as usual and there is Coral Reef in Bracknell and Rivermead Leisure Centre in Reading.
The site is run by Places Leisure on behalf of Wokingham Borough Council.
A spokesperson from Carnival Pool said: “Due to a burst water pipe the pool is currently closed. Remedial works are underway and the pool is due to reopen in the afternoon on Friday, October 26.
“While the works are carried out to reopen the pool, customers of Carnival Pool are able to swim at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre.
“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience. The rest of the Centre is open as usual.”
