BUS users in Woodley and Earley will notice a few changes to their usual service from next week.
From Monday, July 24, both orange 13 and 14 routes between Woodley and Reading will see extra journeys in the mornings and afternoons during the week, while the orange 12 will be withdrawn due to low usage.
The extra journeys on the 13 and 14 will aim to provide better journeys into town and is using resources freed up from orange 12.
It is hoped that the revised service will distribute times across the area more evenly, and give a better service to the two main routes.
The orange 13 will continue to run a late-night service until 2.30am from Reading on Fridays and Saturdays.
In Earley, the 19b service from Lower Earley Asda will now extend into Whitley.
The scarlet 9 service will now become an hourly service, and will no longer run on Sundays.
The 919 service, which serves Lower Earley, Maiden Erlegh and St Joseph’s School, is being withdrawn due to low usage.
Buses on the scarlet 9 route will now combine with all of the 19 services along Whiteknights Road, rather than run along Shinfield Road.
The route in Whitley Wood will run along Cressingham Road, Basingstoke Road and Whitley Wood Road as normal, but will then turn right to use a small section of Shinfield Road to get back to Elm Road and Whiteknights Road.
The 19b will be used to cover the section along Northumberland Avenue and Hartland Road to ensure that there are still direct buses to the hospital for all of Whitley Wood.
