TO MARK British Science Week, children are invited to find out why plants are smelly.
The event is being organised by the Reading branch of the British Science Association and takes place this Sunday (March 10) in the Harris Gardens.
Organisers say that the event will give children aged seven and upwards the chance to discover sweet and stinky plants, by scratching and sniffing them.
There will also be a chance to learn about the chemical basis of the aromas, and how they help the plants with defence and pollination.
Places are free, but should be booked in advance by emailing [email protected]
