ON SUNDAY, January 21, to mark the Week of Prayer For Christian Unity churches joined forces to walk around the town.
Members from nine different Wokingham town centre churches met at the Methodist Church in Rose Street before going for their adventure in the pouring rain.
They stopped at a range of venues including the new Saxons Court development where they prayed for the new residents coming in to the borough, and at the Medical Centre where they prayed for the staff who deal with medical emergencies.
Afterwards, the group returned to the Methodist Church where they joined with those who were unable to go on the walk.
Father Richard Lamey, from St Paul’s Church on Reading Road, said: “It was special to be together and to be walking through the town praying.
“[Despite the weather] people have been enjoying themselves – they were keen to come!”
