We were delighted to welcome 12 new volunteers to our team last week.
Thank you very much to The Wokingham Paper for giving us this slot to promote our work and the opportunities here. A big thanks also, to you, for reading this and supporting our work.
Our new volunteers will be joining us in a variety of roles including reception work, campaigns or assessor (giving first level of advice). They are on training courses either every Tuesday or Thursday this month, ready to start in April.
We have some places left for our April intake. Reception and support volunteers only need to do day one of our training, which is the induction.
The other sessions are around providing advice.
If you would like to sign up for our April intake or to find out more information please visit www.citizensadvicewokingham.org.uk/volunteering
We recently had our audit on quality and performance from our national body – Citizens Advice.
This happens every year with a full assessment every three years, which we have just had.
We are delighted that we received a score of excellent in all nine leadership areas – an improvement from ‘good’ in our last assessment.
This demonstrates that your local Citizens Advice is performing well and we are looking to expand our offer of services across the Borough to meet the need of our communities.
To do this effectively we need to hear from you.
Do you access our services and have some feedback? Or have you not accessed our services but feel you have an issue we could or should help with. We would love to hear from you.
You can drop us an email on [email protected] or pop in to Wokingham or Woodley offices for a feedback form or to speak to a supervisor.
I was at Wokingham Town Council’s annual general meeting last week to hear all about their work over the last year and to join other voluntary sector organisations to receive news about our grant.
A big thank you to the people of Wokingham Town and its Councillors for £10,000 towards our work.
Our main office is based in Waterford House just off Denmark Street available five days a week.
Our Fundraising quiz is taking place in April.
Please contact [email protected] if you would like to join us, we would love to see you. It will also help us raise money in Citizens Advice services 80th year.
