THE people of Arborfield are coming together to hunt for two dogs which went missing last week.
Jack Russells Jasmine and CoCo were being walked by their owner Della Still in The Coombes area of the village on Friday, June 30. The dogs ran off to chase rabbits, but they never returned.
Ms Still has been out looking for the dogs, who are mother and daughter, ever since, but there have been no sightings.
Close friend Rosaria Brugognone said Ms Still was ‘beside herself’ with worry.
She said: “It is very unusual for two dogs to go missing, and for there to be no sightings at all. It is very strange.
“The community have rallied round, dog walkers have been looking for them, people who live in that area have been looking. Della has been out day and night since Friday looking for them, she has left her jumper in the area which has her scent on it, but we’ve seen nothing.
“We are hoping that they haven’t been taken but it is very unusual.
“Della is offering a reward for their return. She misses them terribly, they are her babies.”
Jasmine, who is also known as Jazzy, is four or five-years-old, and her daughter CoCo is nearly two.
They are both black and tan coloured, and are wearing red and pink collars with their details on them.
Rosaria said: “People might have seen them and thought they were foxes because of their size and colouring.
“We thought they might have burrowed into a badger set or a rabbit hole, but after a few days they would have been able to get themselves out. We have been looking in all the holes, but we’ve found nothing so far.”
