A teenager from Crowthorne has been arrested by police on suspicion of murdering a man in Reading.
The 18-year-old is currently in police custody.
Thames Valley Police said officers were called to Friar Street in Reading, near Matchbox nightclub around 11.30pm on Friday, April 12.
In a statement, they said that a 48-year-old man had been punched, and had fallen to the floor, hitting his head.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but died there.
Police said that they have informed his family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Sally Spencer, of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “I understand that this news will be a concern to people but I would like to reassure them that a thorough investigation is underway and that we have made an arrest in connection with the incident.
“We believe this was an isolated incident in which the men involved were known to each other.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time this occurred, and who may have witnessed an assault taking place.”
