‘++ CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT’S STRICTLY FINAL ++
The lovely Debbie McGee just missed out on winning the Strictly Come Dancing Glitterball trophy, despite getting a perfect score from the judges.
The talented BBC Radio Berkshire presenter has wowed audiences over the past 12 weeks, but during tonight’s final, the viewing public voted for Joe McFadden and his dancing partner Katya Jones to lift the famous trophy.
During the final, Debbie and her dancing partner Giovanni showcased their skills with three different dances.
The judges asked them to perform a Salsa, which they did to Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Boys Town Gang.
For this dance, she scored 39 – an improvement on the 35 she scored for this earlier in the series. Bruno quipped: “You’re like the Tardis, you defy the laws of physics and the concept of time.”
For their second dance, a showdance, they performed to One Day I’ll Fly Away by Vaults.
This scored 38 points and left them in second place in the judges’ leaderboard, although the judges scoring on the night didn’t count: it was the viewers votes that did.
And their third dance was their Argentine Tango, much praised earlier in the series. It was danced to Por Una Cabeza by Carlos Gardel and Alfredo Le Pera.
The judges gave this dance a perfect score: four 10s.
