Reading fans can add another date to their diaries after today’s FA Cup third round draw.
Clubs from the Premier League and Championship will join the 20 sides who have battled through the early rounds when the competition resumes on the weekend of January 5-8.
And Reading have been handed an away trip to League Two outfit Stevenage.
Stevenage have already played two matches and scored 10 goals to reach this stage, seeing off Nantwich Town 5-0 and Swindon Town 5-2.
The two sides have met just twice before, both in the FA Cup, with Reading beating Stevenage 2-1 away in 2011 with goals from Mikele Leigertwood and Shane Long.
But tables were turned when the pair met again the following year with Stevenage winning 1-0 at the Mad Stad.
Royals lost at the third round stage last season, going down 4-0 against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
