A MAN who tried to drive off after reversing into a parked car has been arrested for suspected drink or drug driving, following a police chase through Finchampstead.
During the chase, the car collided with another at a roundabout, but police said that there were no serious injured.
The incident took place on Sunday, April 22.
Residents reported on social media seeing the chase, and that Barkham Ride was closed by police between Finchampstead Road and Nashgrove Road.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A 45-year-old man from Wokingham was arrested following a short pursuit in Barkham Ride, Finchampstead.
“The driver of a blue Citroen made off from police after reversing into a parked car.
“The vehicle collided with another car approaching a roundabout at Nashgrove Lane, but there were no serious injuries.
“The man was subsequently arrested for failing to stop, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
“He has since been released under investigation.”
