THE Emm Brook has been placed on flood alert once again following another spell of heavy rain which hit the borough on Friday night.
Alerts are a level below flood warnings and was issued by the Environment Agency late on Friday afternoon in anticipation of the downpour expected locally later in the evening.
With more heavy rain forecast today (Saturday), the alert remains in place.
The flooding of property is not expected, although low lying areas and roads could be at risk of surface flooding.
A message on the www.gov.uk/flood website said: “If we receive the rainfall, river levels are high and are likely to rise resulting in flooding of low lying areas and roads.
“No property flooding is currently expected.
“On Saturday there will be bands of showers during the day, some showers may be heavy.”
There are no other alerts in place across the borough at present.
