A LOW scoring affair between Emmbrook and Bearwood and Braywood saw the hosts take the victory thanks to a remarkable seven wicket bowling performance from Matt Howarth.
Emmbrook and Bearwood elected to bat first but struggled to take advantage of their decision as the opening pair of Ollie Williams and Sanjeev Jain were dismissed for a combined total of just four, with the latter getting a duck.
The middle order was dismissed rapidly as well as only Prathamesh (14) and Imran Khan (22) managed to post decent totals to increase Emmbrook’s score.
Richard Cole and Balakrishnan contributed in the tail end as they both scored 11 runs, but the final wicket fell after just 28.1 overs with only 89 runs on the board.
With a small total to defend it looked to be an uphill task for Emmbrook and Bearwood to salvage a result from the match, however they protected their lead brilliantly.
Howarth delivered a stunning bowling performance as he diminished the Braywood batting order with an outstanding seven wickets to his name.
Richard Cole also impressed with his bowling stint as he collected three wickets including the important dismissal of Hassan Ali who top scored for Braywood with 18 runs.
However, in a short but thrilling match, Howarth took the all important last wicket as he caught and bowled Atisham Masood for 16 runs to secure a 24 run victory for Emmbrook and Bearwood.
