It’s the last Sunday in November and we are now less than 5 weeks till Christmas. As mentioned previously (And if you know me well, you’ll already know this), I love Christmas so much and to be honest I am still the first one up on Christmas Day, seriously.
With that in mind and before we go onto this week’s awesome content, I want to ask you some questions that will just give you some food for thought as we approach the end of this year:
What would you like to have achieved by the end of 2019?
What’s possibly missing in your own life right now?
If you could change just ONE thing in your life right now, what would it be and why?
How s will you know you’ve completed the one thing you have just set?
What’s specifically the first most simple step you could take right this minute to move towards your goal?
When you just read that I was going to ask you some questions, what did you NOT want me to ask you?
What is the benefit of staying just as you are compared with where you could be?
What’s wrong with how you are right this moment ?
What was your biggest win yesterday? How can you use that brightspot to illuminate other areas right his moment?
Who are you and what do you stand for?
That’s 10 highly powerful questions right there for you. Ten seriously impacting questions that may get you a little bit uncomfortable, may get your skin tingling, they could get your heart rate up, you may get a weird feeling in your gut but I tell you what….they will invoke a reaction in you I promise you that.
As Roy Bennett so perfectly said “You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
Benedict Cumberbatch also stated that “The further you get away from yourself, the more challenging it is. Not to be in your comfort zone is great fun.”
And finally, Manoj Arora so perfectly said that “Comfort is your biggest trap and coming out of comfort zone your biggest challenge.”
Before we go onto the next AWESOME local service provider that you just must hear about, I want to list just a few facts and guidelines from the recent Action for Happiness EXPLORING WHAT MATTERS course. These points I feel are what made the course to special and so amazing to lead. Just these points will sky rocket your life, maybe even change your life in a way you wouldn’t think possible. Enjoy and as always…IMPLEMENT, IMPLEMENT, IMPLEMENT:
- We need to move from zero sum to positive sum activities, where people can succeed in harmony, rather than in pure competition with others.
- The happiest people have work, hobbies or activities in their lives that they love and that make use of their strengths.
- We often drive ourselves crazy with unhelpful thinking patterns, change your thinking and CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
- The path to inner peace lies in observing the golden rule – Never treat others as you would not like to be treated yourself.
- When we numb ourselves from vulnerability, this also numbs our ability to experience joy, gratitude and happiness.
- Your brain at POSITIVE performs significantly better that it does at negative, neutral or stressed.
- Anyone can be an agent of change, we all have that choice.
- Love and affection are a lethally good formula for MENTAL NUTRITION. Use them often and see the nutritional benefits mentally.
Now onto this week’s AWESOME local fitness related business offering something truly unique to the area. This week I want to mention the brilliant Get Active Sports. I am slightly biased this week in that the company is run by one of my best buddies, but the fact is, Get Active are gamechangers in their field and it would be criminal not to have them in my column.
I asked Rob (Rob Sherwood – Co Founder) what they did in terms of services. “We Started in the Summer of 2012 and we offer Schools a solution to delivering high quality PE and parents a solution to childcare. Currently delivering in over 80 schools across Berkshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxford we have high quality Sports Coaches and Qualified Teachers who deliver PE Lessons in Schools.” Simple model, right? I am sure if you have children, you have most probably used them at some point over the last few years.
I also asked him about non-term times. Rob said “During the School Holidays we offer childcare solutions in 25 different locations, offering a variety of sports, activities and games you can be sure your child will be kept entertained.” If you need assistance during the holidays, then look no further, Get Active are everywhere.
As with all previous weeks with other local businesses, I wanted to know about anything super interesting that they offer that makes them uber different. Rob mentioned something that stands out for me. They run an Get Active Academy which started in August 2017 where they offer young adults between 16 and 18 years old, an opportunity to continue their education whilst playing highly competitive football. The BTEC is a 2-year course with an exit route at professional clubs, semi-professional clubs, college programmes in America and Apprenticeships. If this sounds of interest, then please get in contact with Rob and the company.
So there we go for this week.
Some mind-expanding questions for you to get your teeth into.
You have some Action for Happiness pointers for you to implement straight away and we finally had some awesome information on one of our brightest local businesses making huge strides in the education sector.
That’s a wrap…let’s do this.
