FAMILIES enjoyed two days of fun in Woodley last weekend thanks to a partnership between a local church and Wokingham Borough Council.
Visitors to Emmanuel Church’s fun day could take part in face painting, take part in craft activities, go on assault courses made from bouncy castles, wear sumo wrestling suits, go on an inflatable helter skelter and watch puppet shows.
A climbing wall was also available on the Friday.
The church also served refreshments and had a prayer tent set up.
It took place in Alexandra Place on South Lake Crescent, just behind the church.
The Revd Sean Riordan, from Emmanuel Church, said: “Fundays are a great way to put something back into the community and to show that as a church we want to be there to help people enjoy life to the full.
“From cake bakers to bouncy castle stewards to puppeteers, it was a fantastic volunteer effort to make it happen and we’re so thankful for all the positive feedback we’ve received from people who came.
“We hope to be back again next year and would love to hear any ideas for what we can do next time round.”
