A FESTIVE present is being offered to bus users this week as Santa Claus comes to town.
Reading Buses will be in Reading’s town centre to dish out goodies on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (December 6-8) as part of its fourth annual Grand Christmas Giveaway.
Prizes this year includes free travel, money off vouchers and a star prize of an annual pass.
In addition, there will be sponsors’ prizes including London Irish and Reading FC tickets, £50 Broad Street Mall gift vouchers, two family tickets to see Peter Pan at The Hexagon, gift vouchers for Sainsbury’s and Ikea, a free chalet hire and bottle of Prosecco from Apres Bar or six lunch vouchers for Shed.
Jake Osman, Communications and Marketing Manager of Reading Buses, said: “We love doing our Grand Christmas Giveaway each year. It’s about spreading a bit of festive cheer to our customers and helping to promote bus use over the Christmas period.
“We know that traffic gets extremely heavy at this time of year and people face the hassle of parking, getting out of congested car parks and traffic congestion in general.
“It is the time of course when more and more people come to the town centre for their Christmas shopping as well as to attend festive events and activities.
“So to help relieve the stress of traffic and parking, we like to provide some brightness on the dark nights by giving away free travel and money off products to encourage more people to choose the bus.
“We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors too who have been extra generous with their support this year.”
Reading Buses runs a range of services that cover Wokingham borough including the Lion and Leopard lines, the Orange buses into Woodley and Lower Earley.
