CHOCOLATE factories, giant peaches and marvellous medicines were just some of the themes on display as a Finchampstead nursery played host to its own Roald Dahl Day last month.
Oak Tree Day Nursery, in Nine Mile Ride, marked the late author’s birthday on September 13 with a day filled with activities inspired by his best-loved stories.
These included dressing up as different characters and holding a sweet treat sale with yummy goodies like ‘Violet’ blueberry muffins, named after a character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Deputy to Area Manager Joanna Allen-Dann said: “Roald Dahl stories have entertained generations of children and we are delighted to be marking Roald Dahl Day at Oak Tree.
“The children have really enjoyed the stories and being able to take part in all the themed activities.
“Hopefully they will be inspired to explore his stories as they grow.”
