Bus users in Finchampstead found accessing their bus times a little harder than normal after a timetable display was installed two metres off the ground.
Only the tallest of passengers – and even then only if they jumped up – would have been able to check times of the Leopard buses that run between Wokingham and Reading.
The sign, on Nine Mile Ride in Finchampstead, was accidentally placed high up by contractors installing new LED street lighting across the borough.
A Reading Buses customer said: “You have got to be tall to read this timetable.”
And a spokesperson for the company said that although they always want to reach new heights, it wasn’t quite what they had expected.
A spokesperson said: “For customers wanting a lift on the bus they also need a lift to see the timetable.
“It has left both us, the bus operator, and passengers a little perplexed at what the fitters were thinking!”
A team from the streetworks department of Wokingham Borough Council has since visited the bus stop and brought the sign back down to earth.
