A CHERRY tree believed to be more than 200-years-old was badly damaged after a fire tore through a garden in Earley on the evening of Monday, June 8.
The tree, which stood in a garden in St Peter’s Road, was set alight in what fire crews have described as an accident.
Crews from Wokingham Road station attended the fire at around 6.30pm and swiftly brought the flames under control.
It is not known what will become of the tree, but judging by the picture it may have to be cut down for safety reasons.
