A CHARITY shop with a difference opened its doors in Crowthorne High Street for the very first time last week. The First Days Boutique, which sells high-quality second-hand baby clothes, was officially opened during a special launch party on Thursday evening (2).
Three local mayors were in attendance – Cllr Tony Virgo from Bracknell, Cllr Jenny Cheng from Woodley and Cllr Jackie Rance from Earley – as well as actress Anna Acton, of Topsy and Tim fame, and former Liberty X singer Jessica Pietersen, both of whom are long-term supporters of the First Days charity.
The charity, which is based in Woodley, provides support for families who are struggling to afford baby clothes, toys, equipment and furniture across Berkshire and beyond.
The charity relies heavily on donations from members of the public, but profits from the new boutique will go towards purchasing larger items such as car seats and mattresses.
Operations director Kathryn Tibble-Taylor said the launch party had been a huge success. She said: “The shop is looking fantastic, but we couldn’t have achieved it without the help of our wonderful volunteers, our staff and our many supporters who have been so generous.”
