A CHARITY has spoken of its delight at being chosen as the Mayor of Woodley’s charity of the year.
First Days, which is based in Headley Road East and has a boutique store in Crowthorne High Street, has been named as Cllr Jenny Cheng’s charity of the year during her second term as Mayor.
The charity helps young families, who are struggling financially, with donated children’s clothes, toys, equipment and furniture.
Cllr Cheng was elected as Mayor of Woodley for a second time earlier this month.
Operations director Kathryn Tibble-Taylor said: “We are absolutely delighted that Councillor Jenny Cheng has chosen First Days as her Charity of the year.
“We have welcomed Cllr Cheng a number of times at our offices in Woodley where she has donated and offered her support and advice.
“Cllr Cheng understands First Days and our values, she offers her support to reach as many families as we can. We are both grateful and thankful she has chosen us and look forward to working with her in the next year.”
