VIBRANT new cafe bar, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, has opened in Wokingham town centre.
Located in Central Walk, close to Waitrose, Sedero Lounge is the latest addition to the Lounge chain, which also has locations in Woodley (Bosco Lounge) and Caversham (Alto Lounge).
Breathing new life into the dusty old Bailey’s House, Sedero Lounge is a family-friendly, and dog-friendly, destination for friends, workers and couples who are looking for tasty food,
a comforting cup of coffee or a stylish cocktail in the centre of town.
General manager Claire Spence, who officially opens the new lounge this evening (Wednesday) said: “We are really excited to be in Wokingham.
“We have included nods to the town’s past dotted around the cafe, even the name has a local link.
“Rose Street used to be the location of the town’s silk industry, and silk in Spanish is ‘seda’. As all of the Lounges names end in ‘o’, we used the adjective of seda to create sedero.
“We want our customers to feel like they are at a home from home when they visit Sedero, we want them to make it their own.
“It is a very homely place, as with our other locations, there are pictures and paintings on the wall, some of which are of members of the owners’ families!
“We have only just opened, so we are learning what our customers want. We have spent months collecting the tables, which are all different, the light fittings and the rest of the furniture to make it a truly unique space.
“We have a games corner which has already become an unofficial children’s area, which is great because we want to start a programme of activity sessions which our customers and staff can get involved in.”
The outside of Sedero Lounge is also set for a transformation, as an outdoor seating area complete with heaters is due to be completed.
Claire continued: “We want Sedero to be a year-round destination, where people can pop in after work, or meet up with friends for brunch at the weekend, or even come to spend New Year’s Eve with us.
“We’re not taking bookings for the festive period yet, but we have already had a lot of enquiries! New Year at a Lounge is like going round your aunt’s house for a party, it’s relaxed and fun, where families can bring the kids, and even bring their dogs along too!”
