FLOWERS will showcase how we care for our world at a special weekend of events at a Finchampstead church.
Based on the theme Caring For Our Beautiful World, the St James Church flower festival runs from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22, with different events each day.
The event opens with a fizz and flowers preview evening from 7pm. Tickets cost £7 and can be booked in advance by calling the church office.
The church will be open between 10am and 5pm on Saturday for the flower festival itself, and there will be children’s activities and refreshments available.
In the evening, the church choir will give a concert from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 and include a finger buffet.
Then on Sunday, the church tower will be open for visitors to enjoy. Anyone climbing needs to be at least eight years old. There will also be cream teas served in the church hall, plus a range of stalls offering bric-a-brac, books, plants and a raffle.
Proceeds from the event will go to the church’s kitchen refurbishment project.
For more details, or to book tickets, call the church office on 0118 973 0133 on weekdays between 10am and noon.
