A CHANCE to get your blood pressure tested is coming to Wokingham town centre this Saturday.
The Rotary Club of Wokingham is teaming up with the Stroke Association for the special event which will be held in Market Place.
Members of the public can take a break from their shopping to have a free non-invasive blood pressure test.
The Rotary Club said that high blood pressure contributes to over 50% of strokes and can affect any one at any age. It is often referred to as the “silent killer” as it can be completely painless.
It puts a strain on blood vessels causing them to weaken or become damaged which in turn puts you at risk of a heart attack or stroke and may even lead to heart failure.
People who take advantage of the tests are handed the results and advised to see their doctors for a second opinion.
The blood pressure testing gazebo will be in Market Place from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, April 16.
