FREE food samples will be on offer thanks to a new two-day festival coming to Reading’s Oracle shopping centre this week.

The Summer Savour event takes place on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26, will include surprise entertainment and launch three weeks of fun for shoppers.

Restaurants offering complimentary samples and discounts will include Zizzi, Nandos and Wok to Walk.

Bosses from The Oracle are also promising Wes Anderson-esque butlers to entertain crowds by singing and tap dancing their way around the shopping centre, serving up tasty treats as well as “amusing” etiquette tips for passers-by.

The Oracle PLUS app customers will get the chance to win with its Meal of Fortune, a spin-to-win game with prizes including free cookie dough, smoothies from Boost, a two-course meal at Zizzi and gift vouchers worth up to £20.

And bosses are also promising that the two-day taste fest will be the start of three weeks of special discounts and offers from a host of restaurants and cafes in The Oracle.

Andy Briggs, The Oracle’s general manager, said: “Schools out and the summer is eventually here so we’re celebrating by hosting a fun and fabulous foodie festival with a twist.

“As well as getting a chance to explore our restaurants and try out something new, we know shoppers will love our dancing butlers who will be popping up throughout to spread joy as they go. It’s the perfect family day out.”
