SHE’S sold millions of records, danced thousands of steps and made one school’s dreams come true.
Last week, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts visited pupils at Barnardo’s High Close School on Friday, July 19, to present the awards at its annual ceremony.
Ms Roberts is a Barnardo’s ambassador and took the opportunity to praise students and staff at the Wokingham school, which caters for pupils with special educational needs.
The prizes were for academic and extra-curricular activities.
“It was fantastic to return to High Close School and to meet pupils who have achieved such great things over the past year,” Ms Roberts said in a statement.
“It was an honour to present the children with their prizes and to hear their stories which are truly inspirational.
“Barnardo’s is an amazing charity which does such good work for so many vulnerable children and I’m proud to be one of their Ambassadors”.
And the school’s principal, Mark Shears, was delighted to be able to honour the stars at the school.
He said: “Our end-of-term prize-giving ceremony is always a great way to end the school year and a real celebration of our pupils’ hard work over the past 12 months.
“We were delighted that Nicola was able to attend the ceremony and the children are still buzzing from the excitement of the day.”
