The A329M roadworks are continuing as Highways England prepare to install yet more new signs to the danger junction, causing road closures next week.
The year-long project which has seen the A329M become two single-lane motorways – one for M4 traffic, the other for the A329M – has been hugely controversial, with many users reporting the new layout is causing delays, confusion and accidents.
Now, Highways England is preparing for another round of road closures from Monday, January 18. The work is expected to take five nights (weather permitting) and there will be diversions in place while slip roads and carriageways will be closed for the new signage.
The information from Highways England says: “Work to install additional lane designation signs to aid drivers using the junction starts this week [from Monday, January 18]. The slip roads and merge onto the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 18 January for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway and the Coppid Beech Roundabout.”
