A WOKINGHAM nurse has been praised for her work at a new care award ceremony.
Adenike Olotu collected the first ever Longest Serving Registered Nurse award from local care business, Gabriels Care and Nursing.
Adenike started working in Reading as a night nurse, and has since continued her service in homes and hospitals in Wokingham and Bracknell.
Afterwards she said: “The Care Award ceremony was very encouraging, giving every staff an indication of how much their services are appreciated by the company.”
Gabriels Care and Nursing presented awards across five categories including Highly Professional and Most Hardworking which were presented by the Mayor of Reading, Cllr Debs Edwards.
The evening celebrated some of Berkshire’s most outstanding carers and nurses voted by clients and colleagues. Chief Executive Officer, Paul Thompson, said: “The staff we honour today, the nominees and award winners all gave their best.
“Each day as we drop them off to work, they make a decision to go beyond, to give extra, to dig deep within for our company, our clients, for the residents they look after and our management team.
“We thank you for your service and tonight is about celebrating excellence.”
