PATIENTS and visitors to the Battle Block at the Royal Berkshire Hospital will now have somewhere to go for a drink and a bite to eat thanks to the work of a charity group.
The League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital celebrated the opening of their new Friends Coffee House on May 22, which will be open seven days a week.
The League of Friends, which has been operating at the hospital for 60 years, aim to improve the care and comfort of hospital patients, visitors and staff, above and beyond what is provided by the NHS.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “The Friends Coffee House is worth a visit next time you are at the hospital and certainly matches up to the offerings of any high street coffee shop all at affordable prices and with a friendly face.”
