Every year, the second week in November is celebrated as National Short Story Week.
Hospital Radio Reading, which broadcasts to patients in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, marks the event by including in its programmes for that week, short stories written by members of the Thames Valley Writers’ Circle.
These are recorded at the radio station’s studios and are read by members and past members of Reading’s Progress Theatre.
Gerard Rocks, Chairman of Hospital Radio Reading, said: “We look forward to collaborating with these two local groups each year, to broadcast original stories which we know our hospital patients enjoy”.
