A HOUSEBUILDER is hoping that kind-hearted residents will join in its campaign to ensure it’s a merry Christmas for children this year.
Linden Homes, behind developments including Copsewood in Wokingham, is inviting local schools, businesses and residents to support two children’s charities; Building for the Future (BFTF) and Post Pals this Christmas, after both were nominated by its staff.
The housebuilder has pledged its support to both charities this festive season, to help those in need who may be facing a difficult Christmas this year.
Post Pals is a small charity run solely by volunteers who are dedicated to making seriously ill children, between the ages of three and 17, and their siblings smile by the sending of cards, letters, little gifts, support and friendship.
And Wokingham-based Building for the Future is a parent-led charity providing activities, support and therapy at its centre for children with disabilities and/ or additional needs and their families.
Linden Homes is encouraging its own employees, local residents, schools and businesses to donate some small gifts, which the housebuilder will deliver to the charities in the hope of brightening up the Christmases of the ill children Post Pals are in contact with and the children using BFTF’s facilities this festive period.
For those looking to donate, the gifts should be dropped off with Linden Homes staff at Copsewood on Toutley Road by Friday, December 14, ahead of the housebuilder’s team hand-delivering the gifts to the charities before Christmas.
Adrian Sims, managing director for Linden Homes Chiltern, commented: “As many of us are starting our Christmas shopping and getting set for Christmas, there are children and families facing a difficult Christmas this year whether it because of serious illness or a disability. Here at Linden Homes, we are proud to be providing homes and communities within which families can enjoy the festive period – and also to spread some extra festive cheer to those who would really benefit from some extra Christmas treats!
“We would like to invite local schools, residents and businesses in Wokingham and the surrounding areas to work with us on this project and help us, to help those in need this year. The community here is one with real spirit and we are pleased to be tapping in to this to support such a worthy cause.”
