Food for the soul is being promised at a special supper taking place in Wokingham later this month.
Inspired by an American-scheme, Wokingham Soup aims to help raise funds for community projects.
Guests will be served a bowl of homemade soup and then hear about three different projects. Leaders from each of them will describe what they do for their local community. Vote for your favourite project, the winning projects wins the money raised on the night.
The charities announced so far are Wellbeing in Wokingham Action Group, which supports the emotional and mental wellbeing of Wokingham borough people; and Kaleidoscopic UK, which works with families who are victims of domestic abuse.
Organised by Optalis, the care company will match the funds raised to a value of £250.
The event asks for a suggested donation of at least £5.
It takes place at Westmead Day Service in Rances Lane from 6.30pm on Thursday, July 18.
