OVER 400 children took part in a football tournament at Laurel Park’s annual fun day at the weekend.
Ranging from Under-5s up to Under-18s, players were out in force to celebrate the end of another successful
season.
Members of Laurel Park as well as many people from the local community packed out the event, which included a bouncy castle, inflatable ‘Kick Darts’, a tombola, prize raffle and barbecue in the glorious sunshine.
As well as the football tournament, there was also a trophy presentation including the club’s ‘teams of the year’ – U14 Starz and U13 Tornadoes.
For the third year in a row, the ‘pre-loved’ football boot stall was again in operation with donations collected for second hand boots with proceeds going to C-R-Y, Cardiac Risk in the Young.
“The club continues to go from strength to strength,” said Laurel Park club development officer Ian Jobson.
“To see so many kids out playing in yellow and green and to have so many people celebrating with us in the fabulous weather was absolutely fantastic.”
