Do pop along to the Wokingham Horticultural Association Spring Show on Saturday, March 23, at St Paul’s Parish Rooms on the Reading Road, Wokingham (RG41 1EH) and be wowed by the beautiful daffodils (we are members of the National Daffodil Society) displayed there.
You’ll also see the work of talented exhibitors, young and old (we have special classes for children) in the photography, handicrafts and flower arranging sections, along with a mouth-watering display of baked goodies including such seasonal delights as Hot Cross Buns and Simnel cakes in the domestic section.
More homemade cakes will be available to buy from the cake and produce stall and at the tea bar.
We’ll also have local honey and eggs for sale. Come and bag a bargain on our ever-popular plant stall.
The event takes place from 2-4pm and will be attended by Town Mayor, Cllr Julian McGhee-Sumner, who will present the prizes at 3.45pm.
We’re always very pleased to see new exhibitors and every help is given to them, so have a look at our schedule, which is on our brand new website (www.w-h-a.org.uk).
There are recipes to help – melting moments, and for gentlemen only Chocolate Brownies.
For school years 4 to 11, we ask for a slice of your favourite home-made pizza.
For the very young there’s a hard boiled egg to decorate and colouring in of a picture available from our Ormonde Road Trading Store.
There’s also a colouring-in picture for any age above School Year 4 to 100, and lots of other classes, so do check them out!
Entries, at 50p each, must be submitted by 10am on Friday, March 22, and exhibits need to be brought to St Paul’s on the morning of Saturday, March 23.
