Reading manager Veljko Paunović was left disappointed after the Royals’ play-off hopes were ended by Swansea City.
“Nothing can comfort our disappointment,” said Paunović.
“It’s hard to accept that our season is over after everything we have done and how hard we have fought.
“It’s unfortunate. Knowing how hard the team have worked. Going through all the setbacks and injures. They have always fought back and got back in shape to help the team.
“I want to look at the positives. There is a huge improvement in our game and our identity and character. We have a good mix of young and experienced players.
“I will reflect on the season in detail when it is over. I want to honour the competition and honour our fans with the remaining two games to keep competing and win games.
“I want to look at how we can more consistently win games and benefit form this experience and implement elements in our game to not drop points or make mistakes.
It has been a long injury and we decided to make a sub that played a part. He had a very good game and the game developed in a different direction. We conceded goals through a lack of concentration.”
