Wokingham MP John Redwood says he is canvassing views from his local party members as he decides how to vote in tonight’s motion of confidence in Theresa May’s leadership.
Speaking to The Wokingham Paper, he expressed his concerns over the way in which Brexit was being conducted and for the loss of support from the DUP, which means that her Parliamentary majority is all but lost.
Mr Redwood has yet to confirm which way he will vote.
He said: “I do not have confidence in the Prime Minister’s approach to Brexit, and am a critic of her Agreement proposals.
“It is particularly worrying to me that she has lost the support of the DUP, as their votes are crucial to be able to carry on governing and winning majorities in day by day Commons business.
“I am currently consulting Conservative members of the local party, as this is an issue about who should be the Conservative party leader.
“I will then hear what Mrs May has to say before finally making up my mind.”
