Well, slap my thigh! CBeebies megastar Justin Fletcher has just announced that he is returning to Reading this Christmas to take part in The Hexagon theatre’s pantomime, Peter Pan.
Justin, who is known to millions of pre-schoolers as Mr Tumble, is also a talented performer, appearing in TV shows such as Justin’s House and Gigglebiz. Now, he’s signed up for a sixth pantomime at The Hexagon.
The actor will play hapless trainee pirate Mr Smee in Imagine Theatre’s take on the popular children’s classic originally written by J M Barrie.
Steve Boden, who directed The Hexagon’s recent show Snow White and is also Imagine Theatre’s MD, said: “We are delighted to be working with Justin once again. He is such a natural talent with a genuine love of performing, particularly of the sort of slapstick humour that is part and parcel of panto.”
The Hexagon said that Justin’s love of slapstick humour comes from being a huge fan of legendary duo Laurel and Hardy since the age of five and has followed in their footsteps by always taking a custard pie in the face during the pantomimes.
Before Justin returns to Reading with Peter Pan, he will be embarking on a UK-wide tour of Justin’s Party, as well as continuing to film TV shows for the BBC.
Imagine Theatre’s Peter Pan will be at The Hexagon from Saturday, December 9, until Sunday, January 7, 2018. The Hexagon’s box office bods said that tickets are already ‘flying’ out of the door! They cost from £11 for school groups.
