READING Festival headliners Kasabian played a secret gig in the town last night… and the venue was a church.
Around 500 lucky ticket-holders travelled from all over the country to see the band play the intimate acoustic gig in the setting of St Laurence’s Church, in Friar Street, on Thursday night.
Some fans queued for hours to stake their claim to the best spots closest to the tiny stage once inside.
Treating fans to eight tracks – including Come Back Kid, Stevie and Put Your Life On It – as a warm-up to their performance at the festival on Friday, August 25.
Tickets were exclusively available to fans who already held festival tickets.
