LAST orders will be rung for the final time for The Gig House on Sunday.
The Wetherspoon pub in Erftstadt Court is closing after this weekend is over.
Last year, we broke the news that The Gig House was closing, making Wetherspoon the latest big name retailer to leave Wokingham, after Marks & Spencer closed the doors on its Peach Street branch. The nightclub over the road from The Gig House, Spin, also closed in December.

Originally launched as a Lloyds No 1 venue – a Wetherspoon pub with music – the pub offered the mixture of meals, beers and craft brews as well as a weekly pub quiz.
But this Sunday it’s time gentlemen please for the Gig, bringing to an end the days of Steak Mondays, Curry Thursdays and cheap beers.
It follows a similar move by Wetherspoon in Reading, where it pulled out of The Monk’s Retreat bar in the town centre. It is now run by Stonegate Pub Company and offers live music at weekends.
The Wokingham Paper understands that new tenants have been found for the pub and they will be announced shortly.
A spokesperson said: “The last day trading is this Sunday and we hand the keys back to the landlord on June 15.”
