A Reading and Henley-on-Thames-based law firm is on the search for two new charities to support in the new year.
Blandy and Blandy LLP- who have donated over £100,00 to local charities in recent years- is looking to adopt the local organisations for a two year period.
And having supported charities including Daisy’s Dream, Reading Samaritans, Younger People with Dementia, Camp Mohawk, Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Berkshire Vision in the past, it is no surprise that the company are keen to reach out to even more groups in the Berkshire and South Oxfordshire area.
Organisations to benefit from the firm’s most recent wave of support include Age UK Berkshire and the League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital who they have been supporting since July 2018.
The past 18 years have also seen the team raise nearly £1.5 million for Cancer Research UK, for which it received a gold award from the charity in 2019.
And as well as aiding their two chosen charities each year, Blandy and Blandy LLP help local causes including the Reading Santa Run, Reading Legal Walk, Reading Pancake Race, Henley in Bloom, Young Enterprise and other school events.
Chairman of Blandy and Blandy LLP Brenda Long, said: “As one of the longest established businesses in the region, we fully appreciate and respect our role within the communities of Reading and Henley-on-Thames.
“We believe that it is important to give something back by supporting local charities and causes in these areas.”
The company’s fundraising initiatives have included a popular annual quiz night- supported by 30 leading Thames Valley firms- sponsored walks, bikeathons, rowathons, bake sales and auctions.
More than 30 members of the firm’s staff also spent a day earlier this year volunteering at local foodbank Readifood, helping to sort, pack and deliver parcels.
And keen to aid local groups in more ways than one, Mrs Long said: “We also specialise in advising national and local charities on a wide range of commercial issues, so we understand first-hand how charities operate and the important role they play.”
She added: “If your charity would like to be considered for Blandy & Blandy’s support, please contact [email protected] to request an application form. The application deadline is 1 March 2020.”
